Cassiar Cleanse

Yoga and Horseback Adventure

6 days travelling the Cassiar Mountains by horseback, raft and foot.

Have you ever wanted to ride across a rugged mountain landscape on horseback? This trip will take place over 6 days, starting in the town of Watson Lake. From there we will hop a float plane into British Columbia, flying over pristine landscapes, landing at a solitary back country lake and camping there for the night.

We then spend the next 6 days doing 1-2 yoga sessions a day , depending on the group, hiking, riding, fishing, relaxing and taking in the scenery. As we head down the trail to our final camp, we will stay at the beautiful Kaska Lodge. The last day is spent making our way down the mighty Turnagain river on an exciting river boat ride.

While we use the horses as a means of transportation to get from point A to point B, but we also form a deep connection and bond with them. There is something special about traveling across the land on horseback. It takes us back to a more slow and simple time. If you’re looking for a way to get away from the hustle and bustle, this is your chance to disconnect from your phone and connect your body, mind and spirit.

Trip Questions

Where will we be sleeping?

We will be sleeping in a variety of styles of tents along the way, including wall tents and regular 4 man pop up tents. We will have a couple nights in the cabin once we reach the basecamp. Accommodations are shared, unless you request a one man tent.

How do I get there?

Leaving from Whitehorse YT, it is a scenic 4.5 hr. drive south to the border town of Watson Lake. Shuttle buses are available from Whitehorse upon request. From Watson Lake, we hop onto a small float plane for a beautiful 45 minute flight over the Cassiar Mountains.

What kind of food will be eating?

We will be eating traditional boreal cuisine for the most part, using locally sourced meat and veggies. We can accommodate any taste or restrictions. Just because we are out on the trail, doesn’t mean we have to eat like it.

What are the daily activities?

Each day will be a little different as we are travelling and working with Mother Nature. Most days will begin with a lakeside Meditation, followed by a hearty breakfast. We will then take a short break while we digest and then move into our daily Yoga session. There will be some free time before lunch. After lunch it is your choice to do the group activity (hiking, riding, paddle boarding) or maybe just take the afternoon off to chill at your tent or the lake with a good book. Evening comes with dinner, followed by a short restorative yoga session , maybe some evening fishing and then a good nights sleep.

What is the washroom situation?

When we are on the trail, the bush is your washroom, once we get to camp we have outhouse facilities and access to hot water and on demand cedar shower.
