Pedicures for Spring

IMG_1507.JPG

Depending on what’s going in the horses life or how busy they are working, horses need their nails trimmed , just like we do! Today was their first trimming in over six months since they have been hanging out in the pasture for the winter months. The horses have been busy pawing lots in the winter looking for grass, which also keeps their feet trimmed.

First you scrap the snow or gunk out of the bottom of the feet and then use the clippers to cut the nail and finish off with the file to make a nice smooth edge. Its really no different than your Sunday Pedi.
